Solar wind energy -a viable alternative?

Is solar wind energy a viable alternative?

Solar Wind Energy involves harnessing the power of the sun via PV modules and combining this with the power of the wind via wind turbines. We have specialized expertise that allows us to install wind turbines for our large-size commercial customers under the right conditions, however wind is still a very niche energy source.

In Iowa like the rest of the country wind speeds are low in the summer when the sun shines brightest and longest. The wind is stronger in the winter when less sunlight is available, which is perfect. Because the peak operating times for wind and solar systems occur at different times of the day and year, hybrid systems are more likely to produce power when you need it.

Wind speeds in Iowa during July / August / September: About 3 mph Average.

Wind speeds in March and April: About 5 mph! Almost twice as much.

Winter months average 4mph, when the sun is not its brightest.

Consider installing solar panels today to take advantage of the sun.

The sun does more than for our planet than just provide light during the daytime – each particle of sunlight (called a photon) that reaches Earth contains energy that fuels our planet. Solar energy is the ultimate source responsible for all of our weather systems and energy sources on...
